The tense social climate in business | NIM Europe

Measure the social climate of your company

The social climate makes it possible to measure the level of satisfaction of employees and managers with the company that employs them. If social dialogue is a good way to detect strained relationships between employees, but which are only based on perceptions, the figures can help the HR department in a more concrete way to see things more clearly. Thanks to different indicators, he will be able to assess the feeling of the quality of professional life of his employees. But what are these indicators? To find out if employees are satisfied with their working conditions, HR must carry out a study based on data such as the number of resignations, the absenteeism rate and turnover (job rotation). If the various rates are high, the company has poor social management of its employees and must act quickly. In this way, it will be able to avoid internal conflicts harming its performance, including the risk of a drop in turnover or profitability.

Why use an interim manager?

An interim manager is a specialist in work management and organization, hired as part of a temporary mission. Chosen based on its skills by our firm, it aims to target the difficulties encountered by a company in order to remedy them. His strong point? A fresh perspective and unfailing objectivity. In the case of a tense social climate, for example between management and its employees, it is appropriate to call on an interim human resources director, his mission based on an inventory of the problems present but without restructuring the hierarchies or questioning of skills. Once operational, it will be able to measure the social climate of the company, by implementing a certain number of tools, such as dialogue and the social barometer.

The tools of the interim director

The social barometer is a tailor-made questionnaire that highlights the perceptions that employees have of their working conditions. This is a powerful tool which will subsequently make it possible to establish good communication between the different levels, services, workshops and especially between employees and their hierarchical managers.
This measure of the social climate thus reveals their satisfaction rate with their remuneration, the management of their working time, the internal organization, their career management or their difficulties in managing their stress at work. Using this barometer, the interim director will set up a dialogue and take the necessary measures. It may reveal new skills or restore lost trust between different members of a team. Thus, it will promote the feeling of belonging to a group, improving the social climate of the company. Once this objective is achieved, the human resources department will be able to continue its work smoothly.     Discover the different functions of Transition Manager:     You will also be interested in:
