The 2024 edition marks a milestone with a 60% increase in the number of participants compared to the previous year. With this robust dataset, the barometer provides an in-depth analysis of the Transition Management market in France.

Gender Diversity in the Sector: Progress Still Needed

Women represent only 22% of Transition Managers. While they are more present in HR roles, they remain underrepresented in General Management and Industrial positions. Progress is needed to enhance diversity and equity in the sector.

To close this gap, companies can play a pivotal role by promoting female talent and facilitating their access to strategic roles.

A Dynamic Sector Despite Slower Growth

In 2023, 78% of Transition Managers were engaged in assignments lasting an average of 7.7 months. Satisfaction remains high, driven by:

  • Independence offered by this profession.
  • The variety of assignments, which are often professionally enriching.
  • Work-life balance, an additional advantage.

However, precariousness remains a concern, underscoring the need to strengthen the stability and continuity of assignments.

Compensation: Persistent Inequalities to Address

The average net daily rate (TJM) is €967, stable compared to 2023. However, a -11% pay gap between men and women persists, particularly in General Management positions. This calls for greater transparency and equity to recognize and reward women’s competencies.

A Forward-Looking Profession Driven by Strong Aspirations

Despite challenges, 70% of Transition Managers wish to continue in this field, drawn by the autonomy, diversity of projects, and strategic impact they generate. Additionally, 34% of assignments lead to permanent job offers (CDI), highlighting the pivotal role of Transition Managers in driving organizational transformations.
