Transition site director: what advantages for your production company?

Responsible for operational management, the Site Director is responsible for compliance with production, margin and quality objectives. He works closely with the General Manager and the Director of Operations. In a context of urgent transition management, the transition site manager will be operational and effective immediately.

Who is the site manager?

Sometimes referred to as Establishment Director or Subsidiary Director, he is responsible for the administrative representation of an establishment. This is generally the case for subsidiaries geographically distributed over several sites. He then assumes the role of establishment or site manager for each of these entities. He is appointed Subsidiary Director when one of his sites represents a subsidiary of the company.

Missions of the Site Director

The Site Director has many responsibilities. He is initially responsible for managing and organizing the production site. To do this, he manages all the tasks related to production: manufacturing, methods, maintenance, logistics, quality, etc. He also organizes human, logistical and financial resources in order to guarantee the smooth running of production. During a transition mission, these missions must be set up and fulfilled within a well-defined period of time with expected results. He is also responsible for verifying on-site performance and optimizing its organization. It does this by setting and tracking key performance indicators. He then reports to the general management, the production management or the technical management. He is also responsible for compliance with on-site standards and regulations (quality, health, safety, environment). It must enforce these standards by monitoring regulatory developments in this area. In an emergency context, the transition site manager must act quickly. Skills and qualities of the site manager

The Site Director is a manager with a great ability to combine industrial strategy and day-to-day management. He must indeed reconcile the medium or long term objectives and the immediate imperatives of the company. In a context of transition, this must be done very quickly. Indeed, interim managers are very often employed for fixed periods, often for a few months. Their role is either to replace the Company’s Site Director for a specific period of time, or to intervene in order to rectify a crisis situation, for example. A mastery of the main legal and regulatory aspects is therefore required. He must not forget any of them in the context of his management of the establishment. The Site Director also has great interpersonal skills. Indeed, he is required to be in frequent contact with various interlocutors: works council, unions, suppliers, customers, administration, etc. At NIM Europe, we provide you with experienced profiles of Transition Site Managers. You then have qualified profiles corresponding to the challenges and needs of your production site.
